Sharpening Services
Sunrise Sharpening specializes in providing top-notch shear/scissor and knife maintenance services for hair stylists, barbers, tailors, chefs, and home cooks. I am trained in the use of specialized flat hone equipment specifically designed for sharpening convex beauty and grooming shears. I sharpen knives exclusively by hand using Japanese whetstones to produce the best possible cutting edge.
My focus is on quality and precision to ensure your tools are always at their best, enhancing your cutting experience and efficiency. I am dedicated to delivering exceptional results and becoming your go-to partner for all your sharpening needs.
Knife Servicing Prices
Blade 6 Inches and Larger $20.00

Blade Under 6 inches $18.00

Folding/Hunting/etc. $24.00
Knife service includes sharpening and repair of minor nicks in the blade or thinning if requested, rust removal and treatment of wooden handles.
Shear Servicing Prices
Convex Shears $38.00

Shear servicing incudes sharpening, adjustment if needed, sanitization, replacement of missing or damaged parts and lubrication of the pivot.
Service Options
ON-SITE SERVICE
I will come to your home or business and sharpen and service your shears or knives.
A minimum of 3 items to be serviced is required.
pICK-UP/Delivery
I will come to you and pick up your items, take them back to the shop for servicing and return them to you in 2-3 days.
Pick up/ drop off is free within the Bedford-Sackville, Clayton Park area. For services in the rest of metro HRM there is a $20.00 delivery fee. If you are farther afield we can determine the most efficient way to meet your needs.
DROP-OFF/MAIL-IN SERVICE
Deliver your shears to my location or ship them to me and I will service them within 2-3 days, and return by mail or you pick them up.
There will be an additional $15.00 charge for return mail. Alternatively include a self addressed stamped envelope with your shears for their return to you.
